Let's talk about you first. Do you like digital art, handpicked tutorials, and drawing in general? Because this blog is to be flooded with such things! I'll be working all day and night to find useful content, and hand it over. It'll be a "hobbyist to pro" progress...because, well, that's my goal. So if you also like to stalk lads who strive to achieve their dreams, you're gonna love it (tutorials and sketches will be the central content, though). By the way, do you have a dream you'd really wish to follow? Hopefully all of...ok, the mostly 2 persons reading this do. I hope this will be inspiring for you-in a practical way. If you're looking for a publisher of motivator pics, stop reading ASAP (and go here) The rest can stay. :)

Now, some basic Q&A.

* What's the plan?
Content: We are starting with some Illustrator, then moving to InDesign and some basic letterworks. There will be some Photoshop too. But also exercises in classic art. The first aim is to get the basic professional skills for graphic arts. I will also post the artwork I'll make along the way...aiming for one sketch a day (minimum). In personal level I need my drawings to "mature" into a recognizable style, and to become productively fast.
* Why "UmbrellaFighter"?
It's my Deviantart username (long story).
* Why self-taught, if you really are serious about this?
I'm still at the "starving artist" stage, and most lessons are paid, so...thank God for the internet. :p I've taken some lessons in the past, it'll have to do.
* And who are you?
I'm Gina, a 27-year-old woman from Greece. Materials Scientist, BSc degree. I like science, but my passion for art has driven me to a corner. I *finally* came to accept myself and get down to work (luckily, I have understanding family and friends!) I've already participated in several exhibitions, sold a few paintings, and made some logos/posters/leaflets. I'll spare you the deeper backstory for now :) In my free time I play in a theatrical team, play riddle flash games, read webcomics, or pet my cat.
